Welcome

Welcome to our Hatching eggs and chicks page.

On this blog you will be able to follow our progress with our first incubator (and now our second incubator, as well as few broody birds).

Dead Duckling

Sadly when Rosie went out to feed the animals this morning, she found one of the ducklings laying on the ground unable to lift its head and with blood around its head. I took it oof her and it was obvious that it had a broken neck, it died almost instantly in my hands, upon closer examination it was obvious thatit also head a head injury.

It would appear that it had fallen doen the step and then been trodden on by a goat, poor little thing.

Hi,
I came across this blog today and read this about finding the duckling that sadly died. i have a request for you (and all others keeping birds on this site)... I'm a taxidermist, i love all animals with a particular affinity with birds and though i hope no more of your broods meet the same end i was wondering how you would feel about passing any duckling or gosling fatalities on to me to work with.

please email me if you would be comfortable with this.
